10th November 2024- Megawild Enjoys a sunny sunday!
This morning’s double dive was bound to be a good one as we left the harbour we were pleased to be greeted with blue water and a 22°C water temp! Mega Wild steamed out to the island and everyone was eager to jump in.
All of our certified divers jumped in the water at Manta Arch and had a swim through the Gap to end the dive at The Gantry. A couple dozen Grey Nurse Sharks were seen swimming in and out of the Arch, in around 20+ metres of visibility. Some Scallopped Hammerheads did a fly by over the Arch again, teasing our divers for what was yet to come! The Gap was nudibranch central, filling the site with lots of colour as the water temperature rises. A Hawksbill Turtle came up nice and close to a few of our divers as we entered the other side of the island.
The conditions were just too good not to drift from the top end of the island back to the Gantry for our second dive. Again, loads of Grey Nurse Sharks filled the Cleaner Station gutter and cave, along with Schooling fish and Pearl Perch on top of Cleaner Rock. A few Green Turtles made an appearnace, along with the Bull Rays riding the down the wall. The highlight of this dive however, was the 30-40 Scallopped Hammerheads that were swimming in a shiver out wide of the Gap! Seeing these animals in big numbers really is a sight to be seen!
Visibility: 15-25 metres
Temperature: 22°C
A big congratulations to Lisa and Suri for completing their PADI Open Water Course!
