12th October 2024 – South and Split Saturday
With rougher surface conditions today we took out a boat of our more experienced divers to get out in the water and see some calm below the surface!
For our first dive at South Solitary, our divers dropped in to Manta Arch. There was plenty to see with around 10 Grey Nurse Sharks in the arch. Divers also spotted Black Cod, plenty of nudibranches, schooling fish such as fusiliers and tarwhine. We saw plenty of Wobbegong sharks, and even heard Whales under the water.
After all divers surfaced, we headed in to Split Solitary Island for the second dive. Here vis was slightly lower, but beautiful for Split! Divers saw more schooling fish here at Turtle Cove, along with Blue Gropers, shrimp, and more wobbegongs.
Conditions Report:
Visibility: 15m (South Solitary), 12m (Split Solitary)
Temperature: 21°C
