20th September 2024- Finally Back in the Water
After what seemed like forever, SoWild launched out to sea with a boat full of happy divers! Calm seas and sunshine made for a great ride out to South Solitary Island!
Dive one saw all divers dropping in at Manta Arch. The Arch itself didnt have much Grey Nurse Shark action, but the back gutter did! There were about 6-8 Grey Nurse Sharks in the back gutter, both male and female. Other marine animals seen were 2 Green Mooray Eels were having a cuddle in a crevace, a massive Queensland Groper, a couple nice sized Black Cod, and a Spanish Dancer!
We hung around the mooring at Manta Arch for morning tea, enjoying some sunshine and warming up before we jumped back in.
Divers descended at Shark Gutters for a cruisy drift in the curent down to the Gantry for dive two. Some big bull rays and blue spotted sting rays, more Grey Nurse Sharks, a few Green Turtles, Moorish Idols, and old wives were also seen!
