23rd February 2024- Double Trip Double Fun
We had great conditions today to finish up our weekend. Taking advantage of it, SoWild steamed up north for a double dive at North Solitary Island, while MegaWild took off to South Solitary Island!
North Solitary had a bit of swell rollng through, so divers got in for their first dive at Elbow Cave and the second dive saw divers jump in at The Canyons. Lucky us, we got to see Leopard Sharks on both dives! Heaps of schooling fish were about today, along with lovely little Nudibranchs if you looked closely. Black Cod, Wide Banded Anenome Fish, Turtles, and Eagle Rays were seen on todays North Trip!
South Solitary Island had slightly calmer surface conditions, which let us get in on both ends of the island. Our first dive at the Gantry was great, divers being able to see animals such as Green Turtles, Eagle Rays, a Silky Shark, and some pelagic fish! Dive two sw divers jump in at Shark Gutters for a kick down to South Boulder. A few good sized Barracuda were seen, along with Blotched Fantail Rays, Eagle Rays, Box Fish, and loads of schooling fish! We also got to see 3 Green Turtles eating a Lions Mane Jellyfish for lunch in the gap
Congratulations Cruz and Rayti for completing your PADI Open Water course today!
