25th January 2025- Summertime Favourites
With a busy morning at the dive shop, we packed up SoWild and MegaWild which both went out to South Solitary Island for two great dives! With a slight southerly breeze blowing, the top end of the island was optimal conditions to get in for both dives!
Dive one was a cheeky drop in at Manta Arch and the second was a drift from Shark Gutters to South Boulder. Today’s dive was full of our favourite summertime animals! We are lucky enough to have Grey Nurse Sharks year round at South, and today we had about 6 swimming through Manta Arch! Aside from these guys, we also had half a dozen Leopard Sharks cruising around the top end gutters. Turtles were seen up and down boulder wall and nearing South Boulder moring, we saw a majestic Spotted Eagle Ray! If you had a keen eye, there was a yellow Box Fish inside of Shark Gutters.
