27th December 2024- Split and South Solitary Dive
Despite the strong northerly wind and a bit of swell rolling in, both So Wild and Mega Wild pushed for a double dive and we ended up having a great time! Mega Wild shot out to Split Solitary Island and got in for both dives at Turtle Cave. So Wild made its way out to South Solitary, and to stay protected from the wind, both dives were at Buchanans Wall.
There was lots of fish life to see at both islands. Split solitary offers lots of Fan Coral, and it’s abundance makes for something different that we dont see often! A few green Turtles were also spotted, along with some Botchedtail Fanray. If you looked closely, you might have spotted some Octopus, Cuttlefish, and different species of Shrimp! There was an abundance of schooling fish, and in the distance we even saw a group of Cobia which means they were more than likely following something biiiiig! Some more of the regulars made an appearance such as Blue Groper, Wobbegongs, and a massive Black Cod.
