30th August 2024- In water for over an hour with whales

We had an epicccc time in the water today! Everyone was in high spirits, super keen to have a fantastic time! There wasn’t much action happening close to shore, the visibility didn’t seem to be what we wanted. If this is the case, we typically head out way wide to find the blue water from AEC and all of the lazy humpbacks catching a ride south!

Even though the visibility didnt seem to want to clear up, we ended up being able to find 5 (ish) Humpback Whales that were mugging the boat. Finding the perfect opportunity, we all slipped in and spent OVER AN HOUR in the water with them!!!! In the end it only ended up being around 3 that stuck around to swim, but it was magical nontheless! It was interesting behaviour today as the whales were circling the group underwater but also showed very inquistive behavious above the water. They were spy hopping us probably 30% of the time, obviously wanting to look at the massive smiles across our faces!
