3rd January 2024- greAT VIS STILL AROUND DESPITE RAINY WEATHER!
Diving was good today as the island has kept up with fantastic visibility and warm water temps! Mega Wild amde its way out with a boat full of divers as SoWild stayed in cloesr for a snorkel at Groper (South West Solitary) Island!
Surface conditions permitted divers to drop in at Manta Arch for their first dive. With around 10 Grey Nurse Sharks sitting in the arch, it was nice to see the numbers sticking around even with warmer water temps! Making their way around the corner, divers saw around a dozen or so more Nurses sitting in the back gutter. Besides the sharks, both Juvelie and Transitional Emporer Angelfish were also spotted! A cownose ray was also spotted- super cool!
Dive two saw divers cruise around Shark Gutters and the top end! A Leopward Shark was sighted again! Porcelain Crabs, lots of Nudibranchs, White Eyed Morays, and a lionfish were amongst some of the other highlights! Of course Barney also came in for a hello.
