8th January 2024-
The week of great conditions has continued and MegaWild steamed out to South Solitary Island this morning to continue a week of great diving! The stormy morning did not damper the excitment of all punters and we were keen to jump in.
Dive one was a jump in at Manta Arch for a swim around the corner to Cleaner Station. Upon entering the water, divers were delighted to be greeted by a Leopard Shark swimming underneath teh boat. The Arch had around 15 Grey Nurse Sharks crusing in and out, a great number to be sticking around! A Cownose Ray swam by divers in the Gutter going to Cleaner. A Juvenile Emporer Angelfish was another highlight of the first dive.
After a short surface interval, Divers got in at Shark Gutters for a drift down the wall to end at South Boulder. There were lots of little critters hiding in the wall! Striped Legged Spiny Lobster, Nudibranchs, Black Cod, Spanish Dancers, and Arrow Goby Fish were all spotted!
A massive congratulations to Scott and Valentina for completing their PADI Open Water Diver course! Well done.
