5th Jauary 2025- Snorkelers enjoy 30+metre Vis!

North Solitary Island presented suitable conditions for a dive so SoWild shot up there with a boat of divers. Meanwhile, MegaWild filled the boat with snorkelers and divers and went out to South Solitary.

Manta Arch throu gh the Gap to The Gantry was the choice for the first dive. A dozen or so Grey Nurse Sharks were seen inside of Manta Arch! Swimming through The Gap itself, there were plenty of Nudibranchs to look at. A Bullray was seen swimming along the wall as well. Exiting the gap and swimming towards the Gantry, approx. four Green Sea Turtles were seen – all very friendly and some even snacking on Jelly Fish!

Dive two was a drift with the current from Shark Gutters to the Gantry. Plenty of schooling fish were around, and a couple of larger pelagic fish. Abbots Moray Eels and White Eyed Morays were also seen inside of the rocks. A massive Semicircle AngleFish was spotted swimming inside of the gantry wreckage, and the smallest Yellow Box Fish wasnt too far behind it!

North Solitary Island Divers got in at Fish Soup for the first dive and Anenome Bay for the second. The highlight of North was the fabulous visbility!! Around 30 metres vis was seen both at Anenome Bay and Fish Soup. Queensland Groper, Emporer Angelfish, and tons of Reef fish were the highlight of our first dive. Dive two highlights included Leopard Sharks and of course – tons of Anenome Fish! Minimal to no surge was felt on both dives making it a fantastic day out!
