The Sharkskin Chillproof Short Sleeve Chest Zip is perfect worn as a stand alone garment for a variety of activities and watersports, or underneath a wetsuit. This is a great garment choice for when arm manoevrability is a priority.
It provides the ultimate versatility by being able to zip up for 100% warmth and protecti0n, or zip down when the sun comes out or your work rate goes up. The chest zip is also a great feature on undergarments as it allows easier entry to the garment, which don’t have a large amount of stretch.
The neck seal is a high and comfortable cut which helps prevent the water, waves, and wind from entering. The garment’s short sleeves provide additional protection from cold and sun, and prevents chafing around the shoulders and arms. This is especially important when wearing a personal floatation device (lifejacket), or similar garment. The firm edges on this sort of item can cause a fair bit of irritation on the skin, so wearing a garment underneath can help prevent that.

What is ChillProof?
ChillProof is an aquatic specific, windproof, 3 layer composite material that has been developed for water sports athletes. The comfortable “micro fleece” layer is next to the skin and can help pull moisture and sweat away from the body to help keep you dry. The second middle ‘technical’ layer is 100% windproof, yet breathes to regulate body temperature whilst stopping wind chill. The third and outer layer is a nylon/lycra blend for abrasion resistance and 4 way stretch.
These three layers of SharkSkin when combined together provide the equivilant warmth of a 2.5 to 3mm wetsuit. Unlike a standard wetsuit, ChillProof material stops wind and chill. The ChillProof range is neutrally buoyant, antimicrobial, and odor and itch resistant. It’s also UV resistant for sun protection and has durable water repellent finish (DWR) to provide a protective shell that “sheds” water.
