The Sharkskin Chillproof Short Sleeve Chest Zip Women is perfect worn as stand alone garments for a variety of activities, although they are still suitable for use under a wetsuit. It is for when the conditions dictate or arm manoevrability is a priority. It provides the ultimate versatility by being able to zip up for 100% warmth and protecti0n, or zip down when the sun comes out or your work rate goes up. The high cut yet comfortable neck has a soft seal to prevent water from waves and wind entering the garment. The Zippered front allows you to adjust and control the heating effect of the sharkskin. Short Sleeves provide additional protection from cold and sun while preventing chaffing around the shoulders and arms especially when a personal floatation device (lifejacket)  is worn.

What is ChillProof?

ChillProof is an aquatic specific, windproof, 3 layer composite material that has been developed for water sports athletes. The comfortable “micro fleece” layer is next to the skin and can help pull moisture and sweat away from the body to help keep you dry. The second middle ‘technical’ layer is 100% windproof, yet breathes to regulate body temperature whilst stopping wind chill. The third and outer layer is a nylon/lycra blend for abrasion resistance and 4 way stretch.

These three layers of SharkSkin when combined together provide the equivilant warmth of a 2.5 to 3mm wetsuit. Unlike a standard wetsuit, ChillProof material stops wind and chill. The ChillProof range is neutrally buoyant, antimicrobial, and odor and itch resistant. It’s also UV resistant for sun protection and has durable water repellent finish (DWR) to provide a protective shell that “sheds” water.
