6th June 2017 – Breaching Whales on First Trip
Today was our very first Whale Watching trip for 2017 and it did not disappoint!! We found a couple of Humpback Whales just out from the harbour who were soaking up the sun, then one of our customers spotted a double breach on the horizon we zipped out to them on our boat 2 Wild, lucky for everyone the whales did another 6-10 breaches!!
It was a great start to the Whale Watching year and we look to get into it again next week.

7th June 2017 – Beautiful show of Humpback Whale Tail
We had another great Whale Watching trip this afternoon with three different pods making their way north.
We only had one breach but plenty of tail rolls and headstands, one of the Humpback Whales showed off its power by doing some impressive tail slaps.
Don’t miss out on getting up close with these beautiful animals!!

26th June 2017 – Migrating Humpback Whales in full swing
We had another great afternoon out Whale Watching!! The 2pm Trip was very popular so we had both Wildfin and 2Wild head out in search of the Migrating Whales.
Just out from the harbour we come across a large pod of about six whales who done a few splashes and tail rolls, then out a little wider we had a pair breaching and synchronised head stands!! a very similar show to yesterday at 11am.
Amazing afternoon on the water.

27th June 2017 – Record Humpback numbers on the Coffs Coast
We had yet another amazing day Whale Watching with both our boats out early at 9am and one trip at 11am.
All the trips today had some awesome encounters with breaches, tail rolls, pectoral slapping and some aggressive behaviour from some excited male Humpbacks chasing a female!!!
We can defiantly see the Humpback Whale population on the rise with a record number of whale sightings over the last few days and it is believed that the population is above what it was before whaling started in the late 18th century.
Photo taken today by Andrew Benson of Wildfin with a pair of Humpback Whales popping up and surprising everyone on board and in the background is Split Solitary Island.

28th June 2017 – Breaching Humpbacks put on a show
We had a beautiful morning with Humpback Whales breaching and showing off there skills.
Our 9am and 11am trips were full and everyone was very keen to get up close with the migrating whales, both of the trips had the whales turn and go straight under the boat, while the 11am had plenty of Breaches and tail slaps!!
We have some rough weather coming up the coast so have a look at the forecast and book on.

29th June 2017 – Breaching Whales finish with Bird Rescue
We managed to get out one trip today before the weather change came in.
Just out of the harbour we had whales breaching everywhere and were spoiled for choice on what and where to look!! We had about 15 breaches in the time we were with the whales along with some tail and pectoral slaps.
On the return trip home we spotted a juvenile gannet bird that had been hooked and entangled in a fishing line just of Muttonbird Island and could not fly! The Jetty Dive team Lindsay, Kate, Dan and Bonnie come to the rescue and took the bird back and down to Pacific Vet Care.
Thank you to Rachael Mckenzie for the photo of us rescuing the injured bird
What and awesome day
