Today we had a great mix of divers on board, ranging from Open Water Dive 1 students and Deep Course participants to our seasoned local divers, which made for a perfect opportunity to dive a variety of sites.

Our first dive took us to Buchanan’s Wall. The deep divers descended along the wall, where they encountered an inquisitive school of juvenile pearl perch. Meanwhile, the students stayed in the shallower rocky areas, where they enjoyed watching a couple of swimming wobbegongs while exploring the vibrant hard corals, colourful anemonefish, and banded shrimp that cover the top of the wall.

Dive two was a relaxed drift from Shark Gutters around to the Gantry. We were treated to the sound of whales singing throughout the entire dive, and a few lucky divers even spotted the whales on the surface. Around the Gantry, there were plenty of turtles, including Barney. We were also lucky enough to watch an octopus walking across the reef, along with sightings of a mantis shrimp and a cuttlefish, making for a fantastic end to the day.
