Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015)
The Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015) unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This unit applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.
Please note that HLTAID011 Provide first aid is a prerequisite for HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy.
Course Content
Realistic scenarios and practical exercises form part of the training enabling students to apply their skills in simulated emergency situations.
The course includes HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as specific and more in-depth training such as:
- Use of oxygen devices
- Administration of oxygen therapy
- Bag-valve-mask resuscitation
- Oropharyngeal airway management
- Selecting and inserting appropriate basic airway adjunct
- Suction
- Use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding
- Equipment maintenance
- Oxygen therapy considerations

$240 per person. Courses run on demand (weekdays) with advanced bookings.
Minimum of 2 students required per course and can be incorporated with the HLTAID011 or HLTAID014 courses
