26th September 2026 – Split and South Solitary Saturday

With a bit of wind making surface conditions rougher than expected, we were quick to get underwater, and the couldn’t be happier. The great visibility at Manta Arch made the first dive an epic experience hanging out with Grey Nurse Sharks, and sighting the elusive seal that has been hanging around South Solitary for the past week. Other highlights of the dive were cuttlefish, some awesome nudibranchs and Slipper Lobsters.

With the wind continuing to pick up we made the decision to make way in closer to the more sheltered Split Solitary Island. While we don’t dive here quite as much the conditions were still excellent in closer to shore. Lots of nudibranchs, Wobbegongs, Painted Crayfish, Banded Coral Shrimp and broken back shrimp were seen hiding in the rocks and crevices that make up turtle cove.
