Description

The Zeagle Fury QLR BCD is a BCD of options and versatility – with adjustable sizes, two weight options, and two tank configuration options! It is a high quality and durable BCD,

The Personal Fit System (PFS)

One of the most appealing features of the Zeagle Fury is the adjustability, and versatility within sizing. The BCD comes in only Regular or Large, but offers adjustability within multiple sizes. The size “Regular” can adjust from XS-L, and the “Large” can adjust from L-2XL. Not only does this make purchasing a BCD online a little easier, but it allows for one size even if you vary between wearing just a rash shirt to 7mm wetsuits or drysuits. Or for those who fluctuate in weight and size! If only wetsuits were so forgiving.

These size adjustments are made through the shoulders, chest, and cumberbund/waist straps. This may also make it a comfortable option for women. The size adjustments are also labeled, making adjustments between wetsuit thickness easier and quicker. Just remember what “size” you are in each thickness! In line with this, the air dump puller (OPV) is also adjustable – so it wont dangle if you have the BCD adjusted smaller.

Weight Systems

The Fury continues Zeagle’s legacy of the Ripcord system, as seen in previous BCDs. However, for those used to a more standard integrated weight, they also include the QLR weight system that is seen in Oceanic BCDs. If you aren’t familiar with the Ripcord’s rethreading, or you just prefer the QLR, it’s nice to have the choice! But it’s also nice to have a backup if you do happen to lose a BCD pocket (The QLR pockets are pricey to replace!).

Tank Setups

The Fury’s customisability doesn’t stop there! It also allows you to set up your BCD with a one-tank or a two-tank configuration. This is excellent as a diver curious (but not set) on technical diving yet. Don’t buy two separate BCDs for your setup if you’re not sure, when the Fury can be adjusted between the two.

Construction

The Fury holds the Zeagle name for quality by being hardy and tough, but it’s not so bulky and heavy that it’s not travel friendly. The BCD is made from 1050 denier ballistic nylon, so will stand up to tougher environments and regular use.  It has four stainless steel, black D-rings. Two of the D-Rings are positioned on the chest/shoulder component, so they adjust up and down with the shoulder adjustments, making them a bit more adjustable, too. It also has two zippered pockets

It weighs between 3-4kg, depending on the size you wear and whether you are using the QLR pouches or not. For a BCD that can be used for more technical diving, this is an excellent weight for travel, but it is not advertised as a ‘travel’ model. It does have pockets, and all of the features of a full-sized BCD, however being under 4kg will work well for most people travelling.

BCD Dry Weight:
  • Regular size – with only Ripcord weight system: 3.32kg
  • Regular size, with QLR weight system: 3.78kg
