Jetty Dive welcomed the weekend in with a fantastic double dive at South Solitary Island! Winter season is in full swing as we are beginning to see more and more Humpback Whales on their migration North and the Grey Nurse Sharks are seeping over to the other side of the island!

Dive one saw SoWild’s divers jump in at Manta Arch for a swim to finsih at Cleaner Staion! The arch was buzzing with Nurse sharks, reports of up to 40 total individuals seen! We often times see large numbers of male’s at this time of year, which is what we saw! Divers were also delighted to see a local legend- Barney the Loggerhead Turtle! Moorish Idols, Old Wive’s, Anenome Fish, and a semicircle Angelfish were some other noteable animals spotted!

Dive two was again a kick around the top end, going through the different gutters. We jumped in at Shark Gutters and were instantly greeted with more Grey Nurses, proving the dive site stays true to its name! A few Spotted Eagle Rays were seen swimming around the mooring, also. Queensland Groper, Chevron Barracuda, and some local Butterfly species too!

Congrulations to the remaining CHEC kids who finsihsed their open water diver course today- Megan, Kiara, Solomon, and Xavier!
