20th September 2025-Cold Water diving
It isn’t a proper winter Saturday unless Sowild packs up for a double dive- and thats exactly what we did! We had a full boat of divers who went out to South Solitary to spend the morning blowing bubbles! Today was the coldest water temp we have dived in this year!
Dive one was a jump in at Manta Arch to see what was happening through the arch and through the back gutter. Most sharks that we saw today were in the back gutter, probably around a dozen in total. We also saw a big Blotched Fantail Ray and turtle having a rest in the sandy area of the back gutter! Dive two was at Buchanan’s Wall and was delightful! We had an abundance of different fish species, some being Blue Tangs, Schools of Moorish Idols, Old Wives, Black Cod, Yellow Box Fish, a Cow Fish, schooling surgeonfish, and heaps of Pomfrets. Octopus were out today, hiding themselves underneath buchanans wall!
Visibility: 5-10 metres
Temperature: 18°C
