10th February 2026- Best conditions of 2026!
Wowee, what a gorgeous day to be out at South Solitary! We didn’t let the gloomy morning discourage us, as the sun came out shining and the water was the best we have had this year! 25+ metres of visibility and 25°C in the water made for a fabulous double dive for SoWild and its punters!
Dive one saw divers jump in at Cleaner Station for a kick down to The Gantry. This dive was all about the Leopard Sharks! There were heaps! Some were swimming, some resting, some Were Juveniles, and others were fully mature. Don’t worry- we made sure to take pictures of their left side! A lovely pair of Eagle Rays decided to introduce us to our dive at the bottom of the mooring. Once in the Gantry, the Green Turtles came to say hello to us!
Dive two was another drift, this time from Shark Gutters to South Boulder. More leopards were out and about, another fever of Eagle Rays, a Peacock Mantis Shrimp, lots of Black Cod on the wall, some schools of Barracuda and, and, of course… nudibranchs!
Visibility was 25-30 metres of visibility and a beautiful 25-degree water temperature
