Monday 27th April – Monday Madness
Today’s trip on MegaWild out to South Solitary Island had us all excited to be out on the water. The swell was still a bit bigger than we had hoped for, but under the water was some excellent diving. For dive one we got in at Shark Gutters. Alongside plenty of schooling fish, the divers were lucky enough to see green sea turtles, Eagle Rays, and a lone leopard shark.
With the surface conditions making for an uncomfortable surface interval, the decision was made to head to the calmer waters of South West Solitary for dive two. While we don’t visit this island all that often, it still makes for a very relaxing dive. Huge amounts of hard coral carpet the dive site, with lots of pregnant wobbegongs, batfish, and schooling diamond trevally hanging up near the island.
