11TH jUNE 2026 – Eagle Ray Day
Today’s dive trip out to South Solitary was nice and smooth on the surface and even better underneath the water. Divers got in for their first dive at Manta Arch, making a swim to Cleaner Station. While the Grey Nurse numbers were a bit less than expected, their was still about five of the sharks underneath the Arch. The main highlight was the Eagle Rays hanging out at the top end of the island.
Dive two was a slow swim from Shark Gutters to South Boulder. Divers got up close with the schooling fish on the wall, hung out with Wobbegongs on the bottom, and swam with turtles in the shallows. Including a visit from the Jetty Dive Famous Barney, a Loggerhead Turtle who has been a regular at South Solitary for the last 30 years.
