6 Days and 6 Nights –

Fly to Townsville (not included) and come aboard the MV Kalinda for 5 days of diving the SS Yongala and the Great Barrier Reef
The MV Kalinda is a 22 metre, live-aboard dive charter vessel with facilities to accommodate up to 16 divers in twin share cabins and 5 crew, it has 2 saloons and a galley, large covered deck areas, dive compressors, and Dive tender vessels.
Trip 2 Boarding Thursday night 25th August by 6.00 pm, we depart Townsville Marina and head out to the Barrier Reef and the Wreck of the SS Yongala. The SS Yongala is rated as one of the top 10 wreck dives worldwide! The wreck is alive with all sorts of fish from Huge Queensland Groupers to small Clown-fish. We plan to do 4 day dives on this amazing wreck, and possibly a Night Dive.
The SS Yongala is not the only attraction on the trip however, We have another 4 days of diving remote locations on the Great Barrier Reef. The feature of Live-aboard trips on the Great Barrier reef is that you can get away from the crowds and well used dive sites and see the reef at it’s best.
Up to 4 dives in each of the first 4 days plus the chance for 2 Night dives followed by 2 dives on the last day to allow us time to travel back to Townsville by the evening. (and have enough surface time to fly home the following day). July is Humpback Whale season, so be prepared to watch these magnificent creatures during your surface time.
The last night is “party night” in the shelter of Magnetic Island to allow us to stay on-board and avoid motel costs before flying home on the afternoon of the 31st August.
Special Equipment Rental Packages are available from Jetty Dive. All gear for the trip must be brought by you, the diver, there is no hire equipment on-board. Tanks and weights are provided by MV Kalinda.
