PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course content.
The intensive Instructor Development Course program is an 8 day program taught by a PADI Course Director and our IDC Staff Instructors.
After eight days of the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course involving:
- Knowledge development (pre IDC Padi E-learning is required)
- Pool training,
- Ocean skills,
- Presentation exercises,
- Training Scenarios,
- and practice exams
YOU will be ready for your PADI IE (Instructor Examination) weekend!
Once you have successfully become a PADI Instructor, we encourage you to join us for a few weeks to put your skills into practice and work alongside our established and supportive instructor team, to begin the road towards your MSDT. This is where it really counts, your experience! There are many Instructors out there, but not all of them have the work skills to gain a job in a PADI Dive Centre. We will help you gain valuable experience to help you on the road to gaining a job.
When can I Start?
Here at Jetty Dive, we encourage you to join us before your IDC programme and refresh your Divemaster or AI skills and work with real students along side our supportive Instructors, and of course you can enjoy lots of free diving!

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (IDC) – $3000.00 (approx)
Eight Day Intensive Programme and includes your IDC online E-Learning (also includes 5 extra days aboard our Dive Boats diving, valued at $920. Also includes PADI application Fee
Additional costs of materials IDC Crew Pack – $TBA
The PADI IE fee (Instructor Examination) – $TBA (payable directly to PADI on IE weekend.)
EFR Instructor Course – $TBA
EFR Instructor registration – $TBA
This puts the total outlay for a candidate to become a qualified PADI Instructor at $5000 approx
Need Gear?…..We recognise your status as a member of the Professional Industry (Divemaster, AI or Instructor rating) and give you a minimum 20% discount on your dive equipment and PADI resource purchases!
- PADI Dive Master or Assistant Instructor certification or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months (check with us for qualifying credentials.)
- PADI EFR Instructor rating. (course can be completed with IDC course)
- Hold a dive certification for at least six months.
- Have 100 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives.
- Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
- Medical certificate signed by a physician .
- Age 18.
Not meet all these requirements? No problem, join us prior to your IDC programme to complete the necessary skills and dives! You should have your own dive gear and for a list of the required training materials, please contact us, as a Divemaster or AI, you should have most of these materials already.
