sunday 31st May – Clean-Up Day Success!

Today, in conjunction with SURG (solitary underwater research group) we had a fantastic group of 23 people join us for our Clean-Up Day. Due to low visibility, we kept the event land-based, focusing our efforts around the North Wall, South Wall, Gallows, Jetty Beaches, as well as around the marina.

It was eye-opening to see just how much rubbish had accumulated in these areas. We collected a huge amount of waste, including plastic, general litter, and countless cigarette butts. Every piece of rubbish removed is a reminder that what is discarded on land often finds its way into our waterways, impacting the marine environment we all care about.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help make a difference today.

We’d also like to congratulate Katie, Alex, Jake, and Byron on successfully completing their Rescue Diver course today. We hope you gained valuable skills and confidence, not only in looking after yourselves but also in assisting your future dive buddies when needed. Well done on this great achievement!
