The 7 days are aboard the Galapagos Master, a luxury live-aboard DIVE boat. It is not just a trip that will allow you to do a dive or two at the Galapagos Islands, it is dedicated to do up to 20 dives in the 7 days. Land tours are included as well, so you get to see the wonders of this world heritage remote location.

Schooling Hammerhead Sharks are common at the time we are going and apart from the other amazing animals unique to this area, we are in Mola Mola (Sunfish) season too. Click here to see full details of this trip.

Exclusive Bookings close this month, so be quick if you are keen, as the last two spaces will go quick after that!

Local Trips Away- Join us for a quick trip up or down the road.

Fish Rock Cave – South West Rocks.

We are planning just a quick day trip drive to South West Rocks to dive Fish Rock Cave. We have mid week trips planned as well as a Weekend day trip.

If you would like to join us, either during the week or only on weekends, let us know when you are available and we will include you in, when the conditions are good in May or June.

If you need transport down there, we will be taking a Van and can easily fit you in.

Byron Bay and North Stradbroke Island.

These two locations are great for weekend getaways. Manta Rays Diving at North Stradbroke Island, between November and April, and Julian Rocks has unusual critters and Leopard Sharks in the summer time. We are asking if you are interested and would like to join us on a group dive rather than diving in those areas on your own. We are planning for next summer now.

Local Dives with Us!

North Solitary Island Trips

We are hoping to start running a regular trip to North Solitary Islands. We have customers asking often enough to go that way. Whether you are local or are travelling to Coffs Harbour for a dive from away, If you would like to try diving the Northern Islands, let us know and we may be able to schedule a trip that way for you. Weather plays a bigger part in our plans as it takes 60-75 minutes to get there. Cost is $30 per diver extra, to cover the boat costs, and minimum numbers are required.

Pimpernal Rock Trips

Grey Nurse at Pimpernel Rock
Grey Nurse at Pimpernel Rock

We are keen to get to this amazing site more often, if we can. It is specifically an Advanced Deeper dive and ideally suits the PADI Deep Diver course, with depths up to 40 mtrs possible. The site is exposed to current and sea conditions, so the “moons need to be aligned” a bit to make it worth travelling 2 hours north in our boat to get there. An extra $70 per diver for the long trip there. Last trip, which was last year, happened to be the best conditions we have ever seen at the “Pin”. The feature of this dive is a underwater pointed peak, rising from 40 mtrs deep to within 12 mtrs of the surface. within this mountain, is a swim through type cave that is huge and usually loaded with fish, including Grey Nurse Sharks, Black Cod and circling the peak is often schools of Pelagics.

DSMB Training and Practice on Charter Trips

What is an DSMB? It is a Deploy-able Surface Marker Buoy and some of the instructors and staff carry them, so in the event that we need to make a mid-water safety stop, it can be done safely by sending a marker buoy up from 5 mtrs and allow the divers to conduct a stop with ease. It is not a hard skill to develop, but it is a skill, as risk of being dragged to the surface by entanglement is possible. With this in mind, we are making it available to those who would like to try the skill, an opportunity to do it with guidance on a normal dive. Be sure to discuss it when you book in, so we can plan and prepare the Dive Leader. We do allow divers to do their own thing with a buddy and not our groups, but having a DSMB is a safety requirement.

Learning Local Navigation

A lot of our locals are able to navigate their way around our local sites, and we are finding some choose to do that so they can enjoy a dive with just a buddy and not a group. If you are wanting to do that and not confident about finding your way back to the boat, we encourage you to discuss the Local Navigation with us and we will step you through our more common dive-sites. You can lead us around on dives (the best way to learn!) until you are comfortable too. Again, make sure you discuss this when you book in, and having a DSMB is a safety requirement.

PADI Freediver Course  Freediver Touch

If you haven’t heard, we are now running the PADI Freediver course, including a trip out to the Solitary Islands.  The course has a self study Theory component, Practical session in the pool and then a morning Freediving from the boat. More details are on our Webpage : www.development.jettydive.com.au/padi-freediver-course/
