- Ergonomic harness and waist belt (Men’s and Women’s fit) – Shoulder straps contoured for a gender-specific fit, with comfort lumbar support for long dives.
- Minimalist “Quick Dry” harness – Streamlined and breathable shoulders, back pad, and hip pads make the harness low-bulk and quick drying mesh.
- Travel-optimised weight system – Lightweight 5 lb quick-release weight pockets + 5 lb trim-weight pouches offer fine-tuning of your buoyancy while keeping overall pack weight down.
- Integrated modular attachment system – Easily detachable and adjustable components, such as shoulders and weight pockets are adaptable to the shared rigid Photon frame – no need to buy totally separate gear.
- Platform designed for accessorising – Customise your perfect BC with the Oceanic Photon accessories such as the Dive Housing Holster, Utility Pocket, Tank Tamer stainless quick adjust tank band, and a wide range of colour kits to match your style.
- Light but durable materials – Use of high-strength nylon 420D fabric for high UV and abrasion resistance. Moulded nylon shoulder and hip D-rings and moulded backplate –optimised for strength without unnecessary weight.
- Efficient inflator design – A compact, low-profile, no-fuss inflator with intuitive controls ensure easy inflation/deflation without bulk. Made to be replaced when service is needed.
Sizing
Each Photon BC has infinite size adjustments, which allow you to easily tailor the BC to your exact body shape. This is especially helpful when changing from wetsuit to drysuit or vice versa.
- Adjustable Shoulder and Waist: Shoulders and waist feature infinite adjustment from XS to XXL for men, and XS to LG for women.
- Gender Cut Differences: The men’s and women’s shoulders are contoured specifically with a shoulder length and shoulder angle that better match a man’s or woman’s anatomical geometry. All the Oceanic Photon Air BCDs use the same core frame, so accessories are fully cross-compatible.
Accessories & Add-Ons
Further accessories and add-ons have been designed specifically for the Photon BC to complement and leverage its modular design – see below:
- Utility Pocket – A low-volume pocket that mounts to any Photon, for storing small items (slate, light, etc.)
- Dive Housing Holster – Detachable pouch that supports the Oceanic Dive Housing in a way that is easily removable and without adding significant weight.
- Colour Kits – Accent kits that can be added to the Photon Pro or Air, in 5 available colour options: Aqua, Black, Blue, Pink, and White. Includes shoulder epaulette, hose retainers,
- webbing retainers, zipper pulls, and matching wing bungee to make the Photon visually stand out.
- Tank Quick Release tank band – Designed to keep the Photon Air Bcd stable and secure to your body when in the water, this comes standard on Pro models.
