22ns September 2024- Search and Recovery on Sunny SUnday
With a nicely mixed boat of students and some regular customers, we had a great ride out to South Solitary Island this morning on SoWild.
With a southerly swell, we managed to get in on the top in. Half of us dropped in at Manta Arrrrrch and swam around the corner to meet the rest at Cleaner Station. Around 9 Grey Nurse Sharks were seen in total, most hanging around the Manta Mooring. A Black Cod was seen by Cleaner Rock, quite calm and chill – letting us have a close look. A Pomecanthus semicirculatus was seen, as well as heaps of Batifsh hanging out with us on our safety stop!
We were pleased to that the New Zealand Fur Seal was still hanging around! He’s been there for about a month so it made for a nice surface interval looking at him.
The second dive saw divers getting in at the Gantry in search for a bit clearer visibility. This dive saw an Abbott’s Mooray Eel, Wide Banded Anenome Fish, Blue tangs, Wobbegongs, and special guest Michael Davey blowing some bubbles!!!!!
Congrats Jeremy for copmpleting your PADI Open Water Diver Course.
