26th & 27th March – Easter Blast!
This Easter long weekend has really produced some amazing dives. On Saturday the 26th of March Wild Fin made a morning and afternoon trip out to South Solitary Island filled with divers and snorkelers. Both trips used Buchanans Wall for their first dive, seeing schools of fusiliers, Moray Eels, Lionfish and Turtles. The second dive was at the Northern end of the Island where we used the current to drift from Shark Gutters to the Gantry, seeing Bull Rays, Cobia, Jacks, Black Cods, our local Loggerhead Turtle ‘Barnie’, Trevally and Eagle Rays.
Today the seas produced yet another calm day making it a quick boat trip out to South Solitary Island. The first dive at Buchanans Wall consisted of loads of macro critters including Spanish Dancers, Nudibranchs, Lionfish, Spider Crabs, Abbotts Eel and Moray Eels. The second dive used the current to drift from Cleaner Station to South Boulder Wall where we saw loads of Schooling Tarwhine, Sawtail, Bull Rays, Cobia, Lionfish, Trevally and many more.
