4th October 2024- 20/20 Day out
After nearly two weeks of not getting out for a dive, we had 2Wild loaded up and ready to head out this sunny morning for a double dive at South Solitary Island.
The water looked pretty green going out but once we hit Split Solitary, it turned quite blue which was inviting!! We arrived to some choppy surface consitions but the underwater looked amazing, the vis ended up being around 20 metres! The first dive we dropped in at the Gantry. There were lots of Turtles who were really inquistive with our divers. We saw lots of Moorish Idols, Blue Tangs, Nudibranchs, Wobbegongs, and spanish Dancers.
Our second dive started up at Shark Gutters and drifted down to The Gantry again. We saw more Green Sea Turtles, a massive Semicircle Angelfish (semicircularus Pomacanthus), both big and little Black Cod, White Eyed moorays, Moorish Idols. The boulder wall had lots of schooling fish which brought some nice colour, everything between sweep, pomfrets, tarwhine, and stripeys and the occasional pelagic fish.
It was a 20/20 day because…
Visibility: 20 metres
Temperature: 20°C
