5th April 2025- Two boats Twice the Fun
Taking advantage of beautiful weekend conditions. we had two boats head out today. So Wild packed up with a group of divers from Newcastle and shot up to North Solitary. Mega wild had a mix of experienced divers and students, who had a double dive at South Solitary Island!
South Solitary was absolute magic today! With visibility drastically improving and surface conditions easing, it was an obvious choice to jump in on the top end of the island! First up, our advanced divers dropped in at Manta Arch for a swim around the corner to meet everyone else at Cleaner Station. The second dive was a swim from Cleaner Station to South Boulder. 8-10 Grey Nurses were seen in the arch as well as a lonesome Leopard Shark seen around Cleaner! Four Eagle Rays were swimming up and down the wall, coming in close to divers! If you were lucky you saw a pomacanthus semicirculatus (bluer angel fish) inside of the boulder wall. We also saw all of our regulars as well – like Green Sea Turtles, Painted Cray, schooling (lots of) fish, and Black Cod!
Congratulations Mateusz, Natalia, Radoslaw, and Keito for completing your PADI Open Water Course with Lindsay today.
SoWild saw divers get in at Anemone Bay for their first dive and Fish Soup for the second dive. The group from Newcastle enjoyed the more tropical scenery at North Sol compared to their local! There were heaps of Nudibranchs to peak at if you could find them. A few massive Green Turtles did a fly by the divers, as well as some Botch fantailed rays! Fish Soup lived up to its name and surrounded the divers with schooling fish!
