24 November 2024- Turtle Galore
Before the Northerly winds picks up for the next few days, MegaWild packed up and headed out to South Solitary Island for a morning double dive to finish off the weekend strong.
Dive one saw divers enter the water at Manta Arch for a swim through The Gap, finishing the dive off at The Gantry. Dive Two was a simple swim around Five Metre Rock, staying at The Gantry. 4x Scallopped Hammerheads were seen swimming over the Arch, showing us that they are still hanging around! There were plenty of Grey Nurse Sharks to be seen in and around Manta Arch, around 20 swimming next to divers! An eagle Ray was seen as divers entered the gap, along with some Bannerifsh. It was Turtle Galore today! There were both Hawksbill and Green Turtles seen swimming at the end of the Gap and into the Gantry/Five Metre Rock area. There were around 7 total. Loads of flute fish have been seen swimming in large numbers just outside of the gap. To finish off a great dive, another Hammerhead said hello to divers on their safety stop as he swam over 5 metre rock.
