6th April 2025- Fish Frenzy
Both MegaWild and SoWild ventured out to South Solitary Island today for some fabulous diving! We had the group from Newcastle out again with us on SoWild and some students plus certified divers filled up MegaWild.
Dive one saw divers jump in at Manta Arch for a swim to Cleaner Station. There were around 10 Grey Nurse Sharks seen passing through the Arch, with two large males buzzing around! A few big Green Turtles were seen, one having a snooze in Cleaner Cave and another munching on the remains of a Lions Mane Jelly. A few nice Nudibranchs were seen as well! We were greeted with a mass amount of schooling fish, ranging from little reef fish, schooling bat fish, and some bigger pelagic fish!
Dive two was a lovely drift from Cleaner Station to South Boulder. Although the season is coming to a close, we were still able to see two Leopard Sharks!! Again, both big and small Spotted Eagle Rays were cruising around South Boulder (one having an extremely long tail and the other having none!). Painted Crays, Shrimp, and Black cod were just some of the marine life you could see if you looked closely into the boulder wall! One diver even saw a Whitetip Reef Shark. Although he was obviously a bit lost, this was definitely todays highlight!!
Congratulations Phoebe and Lily for completing your PADI Open Water Diver Course!
