Blue-lip Anemonefish or Wide-band Anemonefish

Scientific name: Amphiprion latezonatus

The Wide-banded or Blue-lip Anemonefish are a variety that are not found in many places of the world! The Solitary Island, here in New South Wales, we have heaps!.

The Blue-lip Anemonefish are very distinguishable by the wide second white band on the body.
This species is seen in shallow and also very deep waters, and can grow up to 150mm and look out! They get quite protective of their turf!

The Blue-lip Anemonefish is also nic-named “Lats”, short for latezonatus in their scientific name.

Barrier Reef Anemonefish

Scientific name: Amphiprion akindynos

The common Barrier Reef Anemonefish is a plain Brownish clour with two white bars. They also have a whitish snout. They grow up to 120 – 150mm and again get very bossy when they get that big!
