We thought if we were going to get wet from the rain, we might as well be wet in the ocean! So we steamed out to South Solitary for a double dive. Optimistic that we would have good conditions, we were pleased when we arrived and found blue water that was nearly 23 degrees!

Dive one was a hideout from the northerly wind, where we got in at Buchanan’s Wall. Buchanan’s delivered the goods today! We had a curious school of Kingfish swim by and check us out when Teagan and her students went for their deep dive. Yellow Boxfish, Black Lionfish, Nudibranchs, and plenty of Green Turtles also said hello! Bryce saw an Epaulette Shark while Frippo and his group saw a Nurse Shark out by Canble Trail and a quick fly by from a Hammerhead!

The second dive was lovely! We jumped in at Cleaner Station and swam down to South Boulder. Cleaner Gutter was jam-packed with Marine life, everywhere from schooling fish, some pelagics, macro life, and even a turtle sleeping in the cave! Some Grey Nurses were hanging in the gutter going towards Manta Arch. Yellow Boxfish, Spiny Lobster, semicircularis pomacanthus (Semi Circle Angel Fish), Barracuda, and some Black Cod were some notable marine life seen! There was definitely plenty of Bull Rays to see today! The biggest highlight was the school of Hammerheads that swam past the front of the third gutter and said hello to the advanced diver group! Another cool sighting was the 8-10 Eagle Rays that swam by in a school past the sanctuary marker!!!!!
