13th July 2025- Rays on Sunday
Lots of returning customers and some new customers made for a full boat on SoWild today as we headed out to South Solitary for a couple of dives.
With a big swell rolling though the island, we managed to get in at Shark Gutters four our first dive. The second dive so SoWild’s divers jumping in at Shark Gutters to finish up at South Boulder. The visibility improved, reaching up to 10-12 metres in some areas. Grey Nurse Sharks filled the deep side of the gutters, a few big Green Sea Turtles were also seen (one even chasing a grey nurse haha!), massive Eagle Rays and Botched Fantail Rays, and some wobbegongs. Loads of schooling fish were out and about, such as Trevally, Pomfrets, Bullseyes, and more. For those with a keen eye, you were able to see Nudibranchs, Moray Eels, and even a tiny little box fish bouncing around!
Congrats to Brendon for completing your PADI Scuba Diver Course today.
Temperature: 19.5°C
