Well, South Sol really showed off today! We were gently reminded of why we love diving here so much. Its diversity in marine life is truly incredible. It’s not often that we see such variety of marine animals, both tropical and subtropical, in one day! We ended the weekend with a bang, just before the Southerly winds blow in (hopefully) nice blue water!

Dive one was at Buchanans Wall, and dive two was at the Gantry- nice and protected from the wind! Dive one saw heaps of schooling fish, a few turtles, and the highlight was the Scallopped hammerhead that flew by the Open Water Students! Dive two was the definition of a perfect summer dive! We saw the very first Leopard Shark of the season today! With the waters warming up for the upcoming summer season, we expect to see more of these guys coming down to hang out wiht us at South Solitary! There were numerous turtles around the Gap and the Gantry; we saw about 8-10 different individuals. Yellow Box Fish, Abbots Moray Eels, active Wobbegongs, a Smooth Sting Ray, and some crazy schools of fish were some other highlights!

Visibility: 15-20 metres
