14th January 2026-UPHILL CURRENT FROM GANTRY
Another cracker day on the Coffs Coast allowed Mega Wild to cruise out to South Solitary for a double dive! The low Southerly blow meant for easy pickings for our dive sites.
Dive one saw divers jump in at Shark Gutters. Notable highlights for this dive was a Sadler pufferfish, a Yellow box Fish, Blue Angel Fish, heaps of Nudibranchs, Queensland Grouper, Popcorn Shrimp, Octopus, and the critically endangered Black Rock Cod
With an abnormal current, where it was running “uphill”, we were able to descend at the Gantry for a drift up to South Boulder. There were heaps of Green Turtles out and about through the Gap today! Some were even quite inquisitive and even swam into one of the instructors (haha)! Other highlights was a Hawksbill Turtle, loads of baby Wobbegongs, juvenile Mantis Shrimp, and some cool schooling fish!
Congratulations to Grahame and Will for completing their PADI Open Water Diver Course today! Happy bubbles
