15th July 2025- Gloomy sunday
With nearly a full boat this morning, SoWild packed up dive gear and headed out to South Solitary for a double dive! The skies were a bit dark and the wind was fresh, we were keen to get underwater!
Visibility has improved since yesterday, staying at a steady 10-12 metres around the top end and up to 15 metres at Manta Arch. Our first dive was a jump in at Manta Arch for a swim around to finish at Cleaner Station with the second being a swim to South Boulder. Manta Arch had around 20 Grey Nurses swimming through the Arch, with about 10 more around Cleaner Station! We even saw some big mummas who are pregnant! There was a MASSIVE wall of schooling fish, with a mix of Trevaly, Pomfrets, and other smaller ones. A few Green Sea Turtles were spotted nearby the South Boulder Mooring, along with some Eagle Rays and Bull Rays. Lionfish were also in abundance!
Visbility: 10-15 metres
Water Temperature: 19.5°C
