With the recent southerly blow giving us some great vis, we thought we would get away from the office and have a mid week break! Dive one saw divers jump in at Shark Gutters and the second dive was a good swim with the current from Buchanan’s Wall to The Gantry.

We had loads to see today. To our surprise, we still had a Scalloped Hammerhead hanging around Cleaner Station! A Devil Ray (which isn’t very common to see at the Island) was seen going past 5 meter rock towards Buchanan’s Wall in about 10 metres of water. While doing his safety stop, Nathan saw a Pomfret stuck inside of a Lions mane Jelly Fish. Queensland Grouper and a  Pomacanthus semicirculatus (Semicircular Angelfish) also made an appearance, which is a fan favourite! Yellow Box Fish, Peacock Mantis Shrimp, Octopus, and some schooling fish were some other notable sightings. Lots of Bat Fish today too! The gantry had a ripping current today which is not something we experience often so we got to see some unusual things that came along with it.

Congrats to Lucy, nathon, and zac who completed their PADI Open water course with us!
