Easter Weekend was a great one and we finished off with a double dive at South Solitary Island. We were able to fill up two boats today, SoWild shooting out early with a crew of regular divers and MegaWild following shortly after.

Although visibility was still not fantastic, we managed to get two great dives in! Buchanan’s Wall and The Gantry were the two flavours of the day, as the wind affected the top end of the island just a bit too much.

Starting off at Buchanan’s Wall, three Spotted Eagle Rays were seen swimming up the wall into shallower water. There were looooads of Shrimp out today. Just about any crevasse you looked in, there were Popcorn, Red Banded, and Ambon to look at! A couple of Box Fish were spotted, along with a Cow Fish, some massive Green Turtles, Wobbegongs, Anemone Crabs, and lots of Lion Fish. A Grey Nurse Shark was also seen, which doesn’t happen regularly on the south end of the island!

After an hour long surface interval warming up, divers jumped in at The Gantry for their second dive. This dive was mainly around five metre rock and slightly venturing into the gap. Of course, this dive was full of Turtles! We saw two notably large females, one Green and one Loggerhead. Hiding in the rocks were White Eye Morays and Abbots Morays. There were lots of Nudibranchs to look at, along with Blue Lipped Anemone Fish and more Box Fish.

Congratulations Levente, Che, Mia, and Daniel for completing the PADI Open water Diver Course!
