21st December 2024 – Blue Water Rolls in to South Solitary Island
With conditions easing Megawild slipped out to South Solitary Island for today’s diving. Once at the island we realised that the swell was still up to 2m but this did not dampen the excitement that the visibility was pushing to 20m!!
Dive one was a drift from Shark Gutters down to South Boulder, we had schools Fusiliers, 2 Eagle Rays and a monster Queensland Grouper at Cleaner Station.
Dive two we repeated dive one but went on different routes. The current had kicked up and with it the visibility getting close to 40m and the temp pushing 25C. There were loads of Turtles, a Clown Trigger Fish, Moray Eels and a sleepy turtle on Boulder Wall.
Congratulations to Nathan and Noah who finished their Advanced Open Water Course today.
Visibility 20-40m
Temp 22-25C
