23th December 2025- Rain or Shine.. We Dive!

Rain or shine, if sea conditions permit- you can bet we will be out at South Solitary! Mega Wild had a nearly full boat of divers who were obviously keen to start their summer holidays in the water!

First up, we got in at Shark Gutters while the conditions permitted! It was lovely to see some Grey Nurse Sharks today! There were a few large males and a couple of juveniles cruising around the gutters! A couple of really large Queensland Groupers were getting about, as well. Some other notable marine life observed included a large, chunky Spanish Dancer, an Octopus, a Bubbleshell, a Blue Angelfish, and Black Cod.

Our second round was at Buchanan’s Wall. The wall and cable trail were turtle haven today! It felt like we were inside the gap, but on the other side of the island! A juvenile Yellow Box Fish stole the show for some of our divers, dancing around the sea urchin’s spines on the wall! A solo Grey Nurse zipped past the wall, also.
