25th January 2026- Super Solitary Sundays
With both boats again fully loaded, we battled against some strong northerly winds to make the trip out to North and South Solitary Islands. Surface conditions only made us appreciate being underwater more!
Divers at South Solitary had a good experience at Buchanan’s Wall, divers lucky enough to see a leopard shark, turtles, and a rare Eastern Blue Devil Fish. Divers at North Solitary had the most luck, with a Manta Ray passing overhead while at Elbow Cave. The divers also saw a Leopard Shark and lots and lots of Green Sea Turtles.
Dive two had the divers from North getting in a Bubble Cave, and divers at South getting in at The Gantry. Both groups had Turtles, Wobbegongs, and a boatload worth of Nudibranchs for the sea slug census. Our long trip up to the North was definitely worth it with everything we saw underwater!
