29th July 2025- Small Boat Big Fun
We love a start of the week dive here! So Wild packed up and headed out to South Solitary for a great two dives! Surface conditions were very ideal, with low wind and swell making our dive site options plenty!
Manta Arch was the first pick, and the top end was our second! Manta Arch had about a dozen Grey Nurses crusing through the gutter a bit deeper, and only a couple scattered through the back gutter! We have been seeing a few larger Females, most likely pregnant! There were actually more Grey Nurses nearby Cleaner Station and Shark gutters than there were at Manta Arch! A massive Green Turtle was spotted in the back gutter, followed by a large school of different fish species. Nudibranchs filled the gutters today, both myself and Julz agreeing we havent seen this many in ages! It s the time of year we see Ocotpus in abundance- if you have a keen eye you may see one hiding itself in the crevasses of rock shelves! Black Cod and Eagle Rays also made their appearance, being seen near Cleaner Rock!
Congratulations to Andrew for completing your PADI Open Water Diver Course-woohoo!
