We had an absolutely fabulous diving day at the Solitary Island Marine Park today! Mega wild held space for its very first Women’s Dive Day. So Wild had a solid crew of divers headed up to North Solitary Island. Leaving the harbour, we had a 25 degree water temp and beautiful blue water all the way out to the island. Today could not have been more successful and we are so pleased.

Dive one at South Solitary saw divers jump in at Shark Gutters for their first dive and the second dive was a cruisey drift from South Boulder to Buchanans Wall! Leopard Sharks were definitely in abundance today. We saw probably up to 15 different individuals. Heaps of Nudibranchs were out today, along with 10 different Yellow Box Fish, an Angel Fish, plenty of Black Cod getting their teeth cleaned from the cleaner wrasse, and heaps of schooling fish.

The guys up North got in for three dives, one at Anemone Bay to the Canyons, dive two at Elbow Cave, and dive three at NW Island at Manta Mooring. Believe it or not, the crew saw up to 100 different Leopard Sharks, at least 25 different individuals swimming together at once. That alone was enough to make everyone’s day. Barracuda were out in abundance, along with Sea Spiders, Golden Egg Cowrys, and even a massive Shovel Nose!

Thank you to everyone who made today what it was- fabulous!
