6th January 2024- Great Hammerhead
With both boats headed out to South Solitary Island this morning, we were destined for a couple of great dives with everyone! MegaWild started their morning by getting in at Manta Arch for their first dive and a cruisy dive around The Gantry was the choice for the second. Meanwhile, MegaWild got in for a dive at Buchanan’s Wall for the first and had a swim up from the wall to The Gantry for their second dive.
The Arch had around a dozen Grey Nurse Sharks swimming through! One group was lucky enough to even spot a Great Hammerhead swimming off in the distance, along with all of the giant cobia swimming alongside it. Buchanans Wall was fantastic too! Regular sightings like Wobbegong Sharks, Nudibranchs, Abbotts Moray Eels, Fire Gobies, and even a slipper cray were all seen at The Wall!
Dive two was a great time in The Gantry. There were heaps of Turtles to see in the Gap, Yellow Box Fish, and Octopus too! For those with a keen eye, you were able to see an Orangutang Crab as well as Popcorn Shrimp hiding in the rocks! Blue Spotted Stingrays were in the sandy patch as well!
Congratulations Andrzej, Sienna, Tahlia, Brayden, and Felix for completing your PADI Open Water Diver Course!
