6th October 2025- Nudibranch galore!
Heading out to explore the Solitary Island Marine park despite the forecasted wind, we had a full boat and some keen divers! Conditions underwater have stayed very much the same , however the Northerly wind kicked up a bit so we stayed on the southern end of the island for our first dive at south. Dive one was at Buchanan’s Wall and dive two was a cruise over to Split Solitary where we got in at Turtle Cove. Whilst these dives are not typically super active with big marine life, we had a really fabulous time diving these sites today! It was Macro heaven! Some of our regular divers said that they have never seen so many nudibranchs before; they were everywhere! Lion fish were seen on the wall, with Moray Eels lurking in the crevasses behind them. Multiple cuttlefish and Octopus were seen, camouflaging their colours. Wobbegongs, Fire Goby’s. Coral banded Shrimp, and a Box Fish were other notable marine creatures seen today!
Congratulations to Lauren, Emily, and Adam for completing your PADI Open water Diver Course today! Welcome to the world of awesome-ness.
