One dive over the weekend wasn’t enough for us so we decided to head out for a dive to start our week off nicely! SoWild packed up with a full boat and launched out to South Solitary. After stopping to see a few pods of Humpback Whales who greeted us on our way out, we arrived to beautiful conditions! Different to yesterday, we were able to see the bottom and had flat surface conditions.

First up all divers jumped in at Manta Arch and for our second dive we got in at Cleaner Station. Grey Nurse Sharks are still in their element cruising through the Arch and the Back Gutter! Total, we saw 30+ Grey Nurse Sharks on the first dive. Aside from that, Nudibranchs, Black Cod, an Eagle Ray, multiple Lionfish, and some schooling fish were seen around Manta Arch! The top end of the island was gorgeous today! It was fish soup around Cleaner Rock, with multiple different species of fish schooling everywhere! Some more Grey Nurses were seen out a bit deeper off of the moorings, one was a very small juvenile! Some nice looking pelagic fish were seen behind the swim through, showing how great having marine sanctuary zones at the islands really is! Longnose Butterfly fish, Green Sea Turtle, Old wives and Moorish Idols, and lots of wobbegongs were also out and about today!

Congratulations to Kalika for completing your PADI Open Water Diver Course today!
