8th February 2026-Best of both worlds
We were able to wrap up the end of our weekend with another great dive at the Solitaries. Mega Wild headed up to South Solitary while SoWild shot up to North Solitary. Both dive boats had lovely conditions: blue water and warm temperatures!
Mega Wild saw divers drop in at Shark Gutters for a kick down the island to the Gantry for their first dive. After a sunny surface interval, divers jumped in at Manta Arch for a swim through the gap and, again, ended at The Gantry. Luck for us, we were able to see half a dozen Grey Nurses along with Leopard Sharks today! A great reminder of how lucky we are to call this our office. Blue Spotted Sting Rays, along with Botched Fantail rays were seen along the boulder wall and into some of our sandy patches. If you looked closer, you could see different Moray Eels, Yellow Box Fish, and nudibranchs!
SoWild dropped in at Anenome Bay for their first dive and again at Elbow Cave for their second dive. More Leopard Sharks were seen here in the past week than we have ever seen before, at the Solitaries! Eagle Rays glided through the blue water with the massive amounts of Anemone behind it! Some Green Turtles were spotted as well, which is always a treat.
The highlight of our dive today was the rare and elusive Mike Davey seen underwater on a dive! 😉
